Getting reading for fourth grade as third grade wraps up

Our party is finally here!  We have had to reschedule it twice already!  We will be having Sno-Cones from Bahama Buck’s Thursday at 2:00.  We will meet at the pavilion.  If you would like to come help, you may.  We tried to make it simple.   We have specials at 2:55 so this will work out well, as long as the weather cooperates!

We started with the cursive “s” today.  Some are getting pretty good at it.  Some are trying to make them their own way, rather than the way I am showing them.

We worked with long division today, without remainders.  Some enjoyed it.  Some would have rather been doing anything else.  We will work more on it tomorrow.  This will give them an insight into fourth grade math, and maybe even make the start of next year a little bit easier.

In reading we finished a nonfiction book. Then we wrote words that were new to us, what the book was about, and what we learned.  These were filled out individually.

We were allowed to work on Poetry Ringo if we weren’t finished.  Those that were finished were allowed to read silently or play an indoor recess game.

In science we compared three liquids:  oil, water, syrup.  We made predictions as to which one was heaviest, lightest, and in the middle.  My kitchen scales didn’t work, so we will weigh them tomorrow to find out if our predictions were correct.  I will get a new battery tonight.

Thank you for spoiling me last week!  I hope everyone got their thank you notes.  I tried to stay caught up!  I appreciate all of you letting me work with your children!
