Third graders work on data interpretation, read about the Dust Bowl

Welcome back from Spring Break!  We got off to a great start!

We started with some math review for bell work.

In math we worked on data interpretation.  We had to look at different forms of information and answer questions.  But we also went over why answers were right and/or wrong.  This is very important.  This is good for you to do with your child’s work when it comes home.  It helps the thought process.

In reading we read about the Dust Bowl.  We also answered questions.  We also listened to part of this week’s book, The Lucky Baseball Bat.  They are to read chapter one to you tonight, summarize it, and draw a picture that relates to this chapter.

We will not be doing spelling this week.  We are doing some test practice skills.

We also decorated large eggs today.  They were allowed to use crayons, colored pencils, markers, or decorative paper.  I can’t wait to see them all!

With the test next week, I would like to have snacks.  If you are willing to send some, it would be greatly appreciated.  Please let them be individually wrapped.  I would also like drinks, such as Capri Suns or the like.  If you could get them to me this week, I would appreciate it.  That way I know if I need to buy any this weekend.

Tomorrow we are allowed to wear hats in preparation for the tests next week.
