Today in 3rd: the public library, money words, nonfiction and Venn diagrams

We had a productive day today!

We are still working on our hidden picture for bell work.

We got to see a presentation from the Moore Public Library this morning.  This is a wonderful program.  If you haven’t taken advantage of the library, I suggest you give it a try this summer.  When my daughter was between third and fourth grades, we started using it on a regular basis.  It was the most inexpensive summer we ever had, as well as one of the most enjoyable!

We worked on money words today.  Each letter was given a coin and we found the values of given words.

We worked more with nonfiction today.  We used our Time magazines.  They read multiple articles.  Then they chose one to fill out a form just like the one we filled our earlier for a nonfiction book.

In science we placed words and phrases where they belonged on a 3 circled Venn diagram.  We used our oil, water, and syrup.
