Third graders make flying objects from straws and paper, then test them outside


We had a marvelous Monday!

We started with a nonfiction passage about Mia Hamm for bell work.

In math we worked with division.  We also added to our math notebooks.

In reading we read about first flights from different people.  Our reading assignment for tonight is about the Wright Brothers.

In writer's workshop, our authors did a re-telling of Fern Gully


In social studies we read about Alaska becoming our forty-ninth state.

In science we made flying objects out of straws and paper.  We tested them outside this afternoon. Check out the pictures below:
