Class makes 3-D hot air balloons

We had a great wet Wednesday.

We started with some silent reading.

In math we worked with area and measurement.

In reading we read short passages and filled in bubbles.  There were four: title, characters, main idea, supporting details.  We did one together.   Then they filled out the rest on their own.  It is hard for them to see that there can be more than one way to say the same thing.  So I am anxious to see what they wrote.  The titles were not given.  They had to come up with one on his or her own.

We did some practice with our spelling words.

We made 3-D hot air balloons today for art.  They turned out great!
