We had a great
Wednesday.
We started by finishing our
Oklahoma booklet. There were too many pages that could have gotten lost
if we had taken it home to finish yesterday.
In math we worked with word
problems. Each answer was a fraction.
In reading we peer read and
compared the two books about Abe Lincoln. We will work more with this
tomorrow.
We did some practice in our
100 Words workbook. We had to find the correctly written sentences.
I am trying to show them that if they read a sentence and it doesn’t sound
right, it probably isn’t. As a child, I could only decide if I read it
silently a couple of times. Sentences written incorrectly just seem to
jump out if we read them carefully.
In spelling we had to place
the correct word in the sentence and write the sentence, remembering to use the
capital letters at the beginning of the first word and the correct sentence
ending.
Parent/teacher conferences
are coming up soon. I am unable to do conferences on Friday before spring
break, but am willing to do them after school on another day. These are
the third nine week conferences, and are OPTIONAL. I have nothing new to
spring on you. If you do want a conference and there isn’t a time on
Thursday, then just let me know. I will find a time that works for
you. Thank you for understanding.
