Third graders put in a full day of active learning

We started with a DROPS review for bell work.

In math we added definitions and examples of 2-D shapes to our notebooks.  We also made a cube, using a net.

In reading we read from the small Wonders book.  This story is also our read aloud for tonight.  We then read aloud, silently, and in a cloze fashion, a passage about Georgia.

We did aerobics using our spelling words for this week.  They are:

            misprint
            misread
            mistrust
            misspell
            mistreat
            precut
            preview
            prepaid
            preplan
            preheat
            distrust
            discount
            dishonest
            discover
            disable
            stairs
            rear
            where
            prejudge
            disconnect

We mad pictures in art, using only shapes.

Besides our read aloud tonight.  There is a passage about Elvis that needs to be read with an adult.  There are questions on the back.  Please make sure your child reads each very carefully.

Also, if you aren’t already, please go over all your child’s papers that come home.  I tend to write notes on them, positive ones, as well as suggestions on what went wrong or how it could be better.

Have a great evening.
