Students work on airplanes for third grade competition

We had a very productive day today.

We started with a math review that also doubled as a puzzle.

In math we introduced, and worked with, right angles.

In reading we read from our Wonders book and discussed main idea.  Then they were given an organizer to put in the main idea and supporting details.  They will do another one tomorrow, but totally on their own.

In language arts we finished our Snowball Sentences.  If your child didn’t finish, he or she needs to finish tonight.

In science we practiced making airplanes.  We will work in pairs to design and test a paper airplane.  The winners will compete against the other third grade classes.  The winners of that competition will then compete with third graders across the district.  They may practice making airplanes tonight.
