We had a great day, starting
with our awards assembly. In third grade not all students get
awards. That is hard for some of the children, but it shows that they
have to work for something. That is why we call a student up one at a
time, so that it doesn’t draw attention to any that might not have received
one.
We corrected incorrect
sentences today, as well as did some silent reading.
We worked with similes,
also. We had to make a creature, using the similes provided. For
example: The creature was as skinny as a pencil.
We read some nonfiction
passages about space today. They enjoyed reading them.
