Students take practice reading test

We had a productive day in third grade today.

We started with some silent reading or assignment completion from yesterday.  Unfortunately, I have some that feel it isn’t necessary to finish work when I am unable to be here.

In math we reviewed fractions and money.

We went to computers today during our reading slot.  But we first heard an excerpt from one of the Clementine books. She is one of my favorite new characters.  She is a modern day “Ramona-the-Pest.”  The Clementine story is tonight’s read aloud.

We also worked and wrote similes today.

We took the practice reading test today.  These will be coming home with your child Thursday.  Please go over it with your child when it does.  I cannot stress enough how important it is for each child to do his or her best.  I don’t want them stressed, as I do enough of that for everyone.  However, I do want them to take it seriously and do their best.  Read and reread.  Go back to the story and check your answer.  Read all the directions.  These are strategies we have worked on all year.

Thank you for working with your children at home!
