Great day of active learning for third graders

We had a good day today.  We started out with an input/output page.  For example, there are three rows and two columns.  On the left (input side) there is a 7, and on the right (output side), there is a 10.  In the next row, a 6 on the left and nothing on the right.  In the last row there is a 9 on the left side and a 12 on the right side.  The children had to determine what number went into the empty space and determine the code.  I the example I just gave you, the code would be add 3.

In math we reviewed angles and took a quiz.

In reading we worked with synonyms and started our SRA packets.

In language arts we read a poem, “Say Cheese.”  We practiced reading it several times, to make sure we were using the punctuation marks to help us.  We also had some questions to answer.

We took our spelling and vocabulary tests.

We had 6 absent so we didn’t do our airplane trials today.

Don’t forget that book orders are due next Wednesday.

Have a wonderful weekend!
