Third graders see real-world uses for multiplication
Multiplication is a really important skill for third graders to develop, so we continue to work with it in various ways. Today we looked at the math principles behind the multiplication tables. If Joey has three times as many books as Claire, and Claire has 5 books, how many does Joey have? It's important for students to learn their facts, but it's also important for them to understand the real-world uses of multiplication.
We also continued our read-aloud with A Wrinkle in Time, one of the real classics of children's literature. If you haven't read this book, check it out here.
We had a lesson from Mrs. Garrett and did work on computers also.
