A full day of learning, from nonfiction to word problems to energy types

We had another great day of learning.

We started out with a rounding review.  This is still giving some of us problems.

In math we worked with word problems.  We did several together, going over what information was needed to solve the problem and how to solve it.

In reading we read a nonfiction book, Keep the Lights Burning, Abbie.  We also worked with reading passages and answering questions.

In science we went back to energy and what was required for certain types of cars.  We compared 3 types today.

We came up with ideas for a new Cranberry book.  Each child wrote his or her ideas in the writers’ notebooks.  We will be working on these for awhile.

We also did an oral language lesson.  I read directions and they had to follow them as I read.  The directions were not in front of them, so they had to listen well.
